Why our name is 'Ariglad'

Ariglad comes from the Danish word arbejdsglæde, which literally means 'happy at work'. Employees with arbejdsglæde wake up excited to go to their job. If you want to learn more, watch this highly entertaining video.

Arbejdsglæde isn't too catchy, so we shortened it to Ariglad. We chose a bee as our logo because they are an indicator species - basically having bees in a certain space means that the surrounding environment is healthy and balanced. This is exactly what we strive to accomplish for our customers as we help them build trust and confidence in the workplace.

After all was said and done, our Turkish Co-Founder and CTO informed us that 'Ari' in Turkish means 'bee'. So our name literally means 'Be Glad' or 'Be Happy'. That was the cherry on top our our name!
Months of research

Where it started

Co-Founders Ali Avci and Sophie Wyne met during a Techstars hackathon that focused on creating tech solutions for issues caused by COVID-19. Their team won 2nd place for their solution to address increased rates of domestic violence.

Attracting users

Ariglad picked up momentum early and secured numerous customers within the first month of launching. By iterating the tool based on their feedback, the tool was developed alongside People Ops teams and their internal communications/employee retention strategies.

Time to take over the world

Our unique approach to build trust in the workplace attracted more customers and advisors, all of who continue to help develop the tool today through their feedback. Their focus on developing trust and confidence in the workplace ensures we have a specialized tool that has a broad set of tools to achieve this goal.

Why employee reporting

Sophie's first job out of University had challenges with their culture, which resulted in her all-female team quitting. Although she's experienced many more supportive workplaces, she saw firsthand why identifying problems early is so important.
